AC Chievo Verona, bottom of Serie A, have parted company with coach Giuseppe Sannino and reappointed former midfielder Eugenio Corini as his replacement.
The northern Italian side issued a brief statement on their official website explaining that the 56-year-old will no longer hold the coaching reins, with previous incumbent Corini, who only departed the club by mutual consent in May, taking the helm for a second time. Corini, 43, also made 134 appearances for Chievo as a player.
Sannino, formerly of AC Siena and US Città di Palermo, was appointed in the summer but under his tutelage Chievo secured only six points, and one win, in 12 league games. His departure follows that of Delio Rossi from UC Sampdoria yesterday.
