Rafael van der Vaart rescued a point for Hamburger SV as his side came from behind three times to draw 3-3 with VfB Stuttgart, while VfL Wolfsburg returned to winning ways at FC Augsburg.

Undefeated in five league outings, Stuttgart went ahead with three minutes gone through Alexandru Maxim. Pierre-Michelle Lasogga tapped in Tolgay Arslan's cross to make it 1-1, before Christian Gentner and Maximilian Beister traded goals either side of the break. Johan Djourou then put into his own net under pressure from Vedad Ibišević as the visitors went ahead for a third time, but Van der Vaart converted from Beister's pass to secure a point.

In Sunday's other game, things appeared to be getting worse for Wolfsburg following successive defeats when Tobias Werner put Augsburg ahead on ten minutes. However, Maximilian Arnold and Luiz Gustavo both struck before half-time to earn a 2-1 success for Dieter Hecking's men.
