Hamburger SV have appointed former Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk to fill the void left by Thorsten Fink's departure last week.
Fink was relieved of his duties on 17 September, with Van Marwijk arriving in his place on a two-year deal. The 61-year-old, who has been out of work since stepping down from the Oranje helm after UEFA EURO 2012, will be officially unveiled on Wednesday.
"We are pleased to have secured Bert van Marwijk as the new manager of Hamburger SV," said sporting director Oliver Kreuzer. "He already has vast amounts of experience and has demonstrated his ability on a number of different occasions."
Hamburg's slide down the Bundesliga table continued with a 2-0 home defeat by SV Werder Bremen on Saturday that left them third from bottom. Van Marwijk has experience of the German top flight, having coached Borussia Dortmund from 2004 to 2006. His other club postings include spells with Feyenoord and Fortuna Sittard.
