Hamburger SV have dismissed coach Thorsten Fink after a disappointing start to the Bundesliga campaign.
"In light of recent events and results we have concluded that this step was unavoidable," explained sporting director Oliver Kreuzer. "We were no longer confident that Thorsten Fink was capable of turning the team around. After careful deliberation we acted in the interests of the club."
Following a successful spell at FC Basel 1893, former FC Bayern München midfielder Fink replaced Michael Oenning at HSV just under two years ago. Youth team managers Rodolfo Cardoso and Otto Addo will now take interim command, with Hamburg having picked up four points from their first five league games.
