AS Roma have reached an agreement with Arsenal FC to sign striker Gervinho for a fee in the region of €8m.
The Ivory Coast international arrived in Rome on Sunday to undergo a medical and will pen a four-year contract with the Giallorossi. "I'm very happy – it was my dream," said the forward, 26, who will be reunited with his one-time coach at LOSC Lille, Rudi Garcia, in the Italian capital.
Gervinho, who also played for KSK Beveren and Le Mans FC, won a Ligue 1 and French Cup double under Garcia in 2010/11, before moving to Arsenal that summer. Roma will not play in Europe this season after finishing sixth in Serie A in 2012/13.
