Cabrini ecstatic with 'deserved' Denmark scalp

It was a great game, on a knife edge to the very last minute. We've beaten a great Denmark side and this enables us to look forward to the future with more confidence. I think the girls gave it all they've got and we deserved this win for the way we played over the 90 minutes. It was a fantastic performance and an improvement on the Finland game. Maybe we lacked focus at times, particularly after going 2-0 up.

Denmark are a very well organised side and they are tactically very strong. We knew we would have to suffer in the opening minutes to find a way to get back at them and then slowly but surely, we came out of our shell and the individual class of certain individuals came out and this caused our opponents problems.

This is a big dose of optimism for the rest of the EURO and it shows that Italian football is still able to take competitive sides to tournaments abroad. I've already celebrated. I'm a pragmatic coach and I celebrate to the right degree when we win and I don't get too depressed when we lose. Now we've got over this hurdle, we'll start to prepare for our next match.

I think we created some chances and lost our cool a bit when we didn't succeed in scoring the first goal. Everyone knew that we wanted to get the points so we tightened up a bit and didn't play our natural game, and Italy are a great team. If you give them a finger they'll take the whole arm, and that's what they did today. 

I think you saw two tired teams. Italy were also very tired at the end and in between these matches you can almost do nothing but rest. The game against Sweden was exhausting and this game took hold of everyone on the pitch. So I think it took some of the strength out of the players.

This was a situation that we talked about at length. We knew that Sweden would be a hard game and that Italy are a strong side so now we have two games and one point. Our goal was to finish first or second in the group and now it's not in our hands, so we have to pick up the players and look forward.

I think we can make more chances and there are some small things on which we can improve upon. We know more about Finland than we did Italy, and we have been preparing for these matches for two months so we have to make a few changes for Finland.
