Bini keen to keep Russia win in perspective

We're happy, but the important thing isn't to have the first win – it's to have the last win. The girls were a little tense in the first few minutes because they've been waiting for this competition for so long. I'm satisfied to have the three points and satisfied to have scored goals – and what goals they were. There was a lot of fluidity to the team. The difference between the two sides came down to technique, and we can be happy to have been technically stronger.

It's huge that we scored two goals from our first two chances. There was a time when we were missing the same sorts of chances. It's so difficult to score a goal, but the forwards worked and worked and worked and they got their reward tonight – but it was a reward for the whole team. As a team, we were very good.

It's a good problem to have so many options. Élodie Thomis can play as centre-forward as well, we've seen that Eugénie Le Sommer can and so can Gaëtane Thiney. After that, it's a question of balance. We had several tactical choices to make before the game – either we could go for more technique and density in midfield or go with pace up front. We have a lot of solutions and all 23 girls have a role here.

It might be a blessing in disguise that we conceded. If we'd won 3-0 or 4-0, perhaps people would have got carried away. This brought us back down to earth. Any mistake can cost you immediately, so this will help us. It's just the first match and we're not going to get ahead of ourselves.

First of all, I'm disappointed – not with result but with how we played. We prepared well for the tournament and had good friendly matches, so I don't understand what happened to the team today. We'll try to analyse the situation. There were a lot of unforced errors and that stopped us playing the way we wanted to play.

We made many mistakes in defence. And the defenders needed to launch the attacks, but they couldn't deliver the ball even as far as the midfield sometimes. We knew France are a tall team and we wouldn't have many chances to play high balls. We were going to play a low passing game, but didn't succeed.

We need to calm down now and start playing the football we are able to play. There are two games ahead and our destiny is in our hands, but we have to play our game. As for the match against England, they are a top team as well and it will not be any easier. The main thing now, however, is to cope with the pressure which troubled our game today and learn the proper lessons. I know we can play good football.
