Leo Windtner has been re-elected unanimously as president of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) for another four years at the association's general meeting in Pamhagen.

The 62-year-old, who has held the role since 2009, gave thanks in his speech for the trust put in him, and emphasised that the ÖFB is the voice of football in Austria and performs many important socio-political tasks. Windtner said the most important challenges on the international stage for his next term of office are the UEFA EURO 2016 final round in France, with a new 24-nation format, and the fight against international betting fraud.

The newly re-elected president's tasks within Austria will also be to further the country's role as a nation that develops footballers and to continue with projects that have already begun. "You cannot reach the top if you don't spread your wings," was the president's message. From a sporting viewpoint, the national team should be regularly qualifying for tournament finals. "Not being involved should become an exception," Windtner told delegates in his speech.
