There was a Swedish double at the French league player of the year awards as Paris Saint-Germain FC striker Zlatan Ibrahimović and Olympique Lyonnais forward Lotta Schelin took the top prizes at the Trophées UNFP ceremony in Paris.

Ibrahimović, who joined PSG from AC Milan last summer, has scored 29 goals to aid PSG to their third title. He was voted Ligue 1 player of the season by his peers ahead of team-mates Blaise Matuidi and Thiago Silva, and AS Saint-Étienne's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. "It's a big honour for me and I want to thank my team-mates for this," said Ibrahimović, taking an award won for the last two years by Eden Hazard. "I want to say that all the other nominees would have deserved it."

Schelin, league top scorer as Lyon clinched a seventh straight title, was not at the ceremony to collect her women's player of the year prize as her side are preparing to face VfL Wolfsburg in the UEFA Women's Champions League final at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
