FC København have been confirmed as Danish champions for the tenth time in their history despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Brøndby IF in front of a crowd of more than 21,000.
Ariël Jacobs' team started the day nine points clear of holders FC Nordsjælland – who drew 2-2 at Silkeborg IF on Friday – and knew that a point would be enough to secure the title. Despite failing to produce the spark that had ignited a sequence of just one defeat in 15 league outings, the result was all that mattered for captain Lars Jacobsen.
"This is fantastic," said the 33-year-old. "Winning championships is something you never get tired of, or grow too old for. We may not have been at our best today, but that counts for nothing right now. I think we deserved to win the match, but I will take a point!"
