FC Internazionale Milano recovered from two goals down to win 3-2 at Calcio Catania and move level with S.S. Lazio in Serie A, on an afternoon when ACF Fiorentina also recorded victory in their quest to seal European qualification.
The Nerazzurri were staring defeat in the face in Sicily after Gonzalo Bergessio and Giovanni Marchese gave Catania a two-goal lead at the break. Ricardo Álvarez halved the deficit in the 52nd minute before Rodrigo Palacio struck twice, his second two minutes into added time, to move Andrea Stramaccioni's side a point behind third-placed AC Milan.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina are two points off a UEFA Europa League berth in sixth after Marcelo Larrondo headed the winner 12 minutes from time to secure a 2-1 home win against AC Chievo Verona. Two points behind the Viola, AS Roma claimed a 3-1 success against Genoa CFC, who lost Juraj Kucka to a 78th-minute red card. Francesco Totti and Marco Borriello traded first-half penalties before Alessio Romagnoli and Simone Perrotta eased the Giallorossi to the points after the break.
At the bottom, relegation candidates AC Siena and Pescara Calcio failed to do their survival hopes any good as both suffered home defeats. Siena, in 18th, went down to a double from Giacomo Bonaventura in a 2-0 loss to Atalanta BC, while Pescara fell 1-0 to Udinese Calcio. UC Sampdoria made it six games undefeated with a 1-0 victory against Parma FC and Bologna FC engineered a 3-0 win against Cagliari Calcio.
