One of three Croatia players making 100th international appearances on Wednesday night (along with Stipe Pletikosa and Josip Šimunić), Darijo Srna scored against South Korea just as he had done on his international debut against Romania in November 2002. After playing a walk-on part at UEFA EURO 2004 the right-back – now 30 – became a more central figure, finding the net at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2008, then taking over as national team captain after the latter tournament.
