Paris Saint-Germain FC endured a frustrating evening as they were held to a goalless draw at home by struggling AC Ajaccio.

The leaders, who began 2013 level on points with Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille, dominated but failed to break through. Their efforts were hampered by a red card for Thiago Motta on the stroke of half-time and an injury to Thiago Silva just shy of the hour.

Blaise Matuidi was denied by Guillermo Ochoa in the first half and the visiting goalkeeper produced further heroics after the break to deny Alex. Lucas Moura made an impressive debut for the UEFA Champions League hopefuls but neither he nor Zlatan Ibrahimović, who was thwarted by the Ajaccio No1 late on, could prise a winning goal.

In the evening's other match, AS Saint-Étienne and Toulouse FC drew 2-2 with both remaining in mid-table.
