Olympique Lyonnais have taken over at the top of Ligue 1 after their 3-0 defeat of Stade de Reims Champagne combined with a 1-0 loss at FC Girondins de Bordeaux for Olympique de Marseille.
Paris Saint-Germain FC's 2-1 defeat by Stade Rennais FC on Saturday presented Lyon with the chance to move clear at the summit, and they took the lead via Anthony Weber's own goal on the stroke of half-time. Bafétimbi Gomis then pounced to collect his sixth league goal this term 17 minutes from time, and Lisandro struck at the end after being fed by a superb Steed Malbranque pass.
Marseille could have moved back into pole position in the late game, but Élie Baup's men suffered their third league reverse this term at Bordeaux. Yoan Gouffran turned in a Benoît Trémoulinas cross at the near post seven minutes into the second half to send the hosts up to second, a point shy of Lyon and one ahead of both PSG and Marseille. OM had Lucas Mendes dismissed deep into added time.
In Sunday's other encounter, Dario Cvitanić buried the only goal of the game to earn OGC Nice a 1-0 success against Toulouse FC.
