Giorgos Sarris has been elected as the new president of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO).
Born in 1958 on the island of Chios, Giorgos Sarris is a doctor by profession. In 2001, he was elected to the board of the local Chios football association, and taking over as president in 2003. In October 2008, he was elected to the EPO board. After his election, Sarris said: "This verdict takes us to the future. I want to thank all those who voted for me. We have a programme, a vision, and we will make it happen."
