Iceland coach Siggi Eyjólfsson has included promising 17-year-olds Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir and Sandra María Jessen in a full-strength squad for the UEFA Women's EURO 2013 qualifying play-offs against Ukraine.
Stjarnan defender Viggósdóttir was voted best newcomer in Iceland's top-flight this summer while fellow 17-year-old, striker Jessen, was second highest scorer as Thór claimed the title. In the games in Sevastopol on 20 September and Reykjavik five days later, Iceland hope to repeat their success against the Republic of Ireland four years ago.
"We always have a chance; I estimate our chances as 50-50," Eyjólfsson said. "I think this Ukraine team are better than the Irish one we met in the play-offs last time around. They are better technically, keep the ball and play well so we know this will be a difficult game. They are about as good as us despite their difference system so we will see."
