Eintracht Frankfurt's superb start continued as they came from behind to defeat SC Freiburg 2-1 and move two points behind leaders FC Bayern München, while 1. FSV Mainz 05 got a first away win of the Bundesliga season.

After dropping their first points of the campaign in a 3-3 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, Armin Veh's men returned to winning ways despite falling behind to Max Kruse's close-range finish on 50 minutes. Alexander Meier struck twice in six minutes to turn the game around, his first a spectacular volley from Bastian Oczipka's cross and his second a header, before Karim Guédé was sent off for the visitors in added time.

First-half efforts from Júnior Díaz and Ádám Szalai were enough to seal victory for Mainz at VfL Wolfsburg, meanwhile, the 2-0 victory moving Mainz up to 11th and leaving their hosts winless since the opening day of the season and third from bottom on five points.
