Kevin Gameiro scored a first-half double as Paris Saint-Germain FC defeated FC Sochaux-Montbéliard 2-0 at Parc des Princes.
The blistering start to Zlatan Ibrahimović's career in the French capital had resigned Gameiro to a substitute's role in Ligue 1, but the striker partnered the Sweden captain in attack from the outset and stole the show.
Gameiro showed superb technique to kill Javier Pastore's lofted ball before slipping it past Simon Pouplin for the opener; he perfectly timed his slide to meet Maxwell's low delivery for the second. The win leaves PSG three points behind leaders Olympique de Marseille, who travel to Valenciennes FC on Sunday.
Champions Montpellier Hérault SC registered their second win of the campaign, 2-0 at AS Nancy-Lorraine, while ES Troyes Aube Champagne are still seeking their first victory after losing by the same score at home to Toulouse FC. FC Lorient remain unbeaten after a draw at Évian Thonon Gaillard FC.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Olympique Lyonnais host FC Girondins de Bordeaux and AS Saint-Étienne tackle Stade de Reims Champagne.
