UEFA Champions League play-off contenders LOSC Lille drew 2-2 at OGC Nice in the early game in France, with Dimitri Payet making amends for missing a penalty in midweek by scoring his first goal of the season.
Payet had a penalty saved as LOSC lost 1-0 at FC København, but atoned for that at the Stade du Ray, scoring against his old club after stealing the ball from Florent Balmont. Nice replied before the break, with Nemanja Pejčinović volleying in at the far post from an Alexy Bosetti free-kick. Ten minutes into the second half Éric Bauthéac put the Eaglets ahead following a counterattack inspired by Camel Meriem. Summer LOSC signing Djibril Sidibé stole the show, though, leveling the scores with a fine solo effort just before the hour mark.
Toulouse FC and Valenciennes FC are punching above their weight, occupying second and third places in the Ligue 1 table after recording victories: 1-0 at AS Nancy-Lorraine, and 3-0 at home against ten-man AC Ajaccio respectively. Stade Rennais FC snatched a first win of the season, Mevlüt Erdinç credited with their final goal in a 3-2 against SC Bastia, while Stade de Reims Champagne left it until the dying seconds of added time for an own-goal winner against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. It ended 2-2 between ES Troyes Aube Champagne and FC Lorient.
