Park joins QPR after seven-year stay at United

Queens Park Rangers FC manager Mark Hughes hailed a "huge coup" after confirming the acquistion of midfielder Park Ji-Sung from Manchester United FC on a two-year deal.

South Korea midfielder Park Ji-Sung has left Manchester United FC for Queens Park Rangers FC on a two-year deal.

Park arrives at QPR for an undisclosed fee after seven seasons at Old Trafford, during which time he won four Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League winners' medal. "This is a real coup for QPR," said manager Mark Hughes, a former player under Sir Alex Ferguson at United. "He has been a big player for Manchester United and played a big part in their success in recent years. He was always picked for the big matches because they could rely on him, and we are going to reap all those qualities."

Park, who scored 19 goals in 133 league appearances for United, added: "The project was simply too good to resist and I am excited about getting started. QPR is a club with huge history and tradition, and a great ambition to achieve at the very highest level."

QPR finished 17th in the Premier League last season, avoiding relegation by a solitary point.
