Czech Republic midfielder Milan Petržela has agreed to join German side FC Augsburg from FC Viktoria Plzeň following his return home from UEFA EURO 2012.
The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract today, and said: "I will never forget Plzeň – there was a great team spirit there – but I have to take the next step in my career. It has always been my dream to play in the Bundesliga."
Capped 13 times, Petržela made a 15-minute cameo appearance in Poland and Ukraine in his side’s 4-1 opening-day defeat against Russia. He is moving abroad for the first time in his career, having helped Plzeň to win their maiden Czech title in 2010/11, and played in all six of their UEFA Champions League group stage games last season.
