Juventus turn up pressure on leaders Milan

Juventus kept their title aspirations alive with a 3-0 victory against SSC Napoli, after Andrea Stramaccioni's FC Internazionale Milano tenure began with a thrilling 5-4 success against Genoa CFC.

Following a cautious opening, Juventus took control after the break and were rewarded for their pressure through Leonardo Bonucci's fortuitous opener. Arturo Vidal extended their lead with an exquisite finish and Fabio Quagliarella completed the win in emphatic style, before Juan Zúñiga was sent off for the visitors.

Inter’s triumph was their first home win in the league since January 22, and it owed much to a Diego Milito treble. The Nerazzurri raced into a three-goal lead, and although the visitors rallied to make it 3-2, Mauro Zárate gave Inter breathing space again. A frantic finale ensued as Júlio César and Fernando Belluschi were dismissed and Alberto Gilardino converted two penalties either side of Milito's clincher from the spot.

There were goals aplenty in the capital too as AS Roma prevailed 5-2 against Novara Calcio. Trailing after 17 minutes, Luis Enrique's side responded with an imperious second-half display to move four points shy of a UEFA Champions League berth.

Mattia Destro clinched a 1-0 win for AC Siena against fifth-placed Udinese Calcio, while US Città di Palermo came from behind to beat Bologna FC 3-1. As for ACF Fiorentina, they hover five points above the drop zone after suffering their third loss in four, 2-1 at home to AC Chievo Verona. A place below, US Lecce endured a goalless draw with AC Cesena, and Cagliari Calcio overcame Atalanta BC 2-0.
