Serie A strugglers Novara Calcio have parted company with coach Emiliano Mondonico and replaced him with predecessor Attilio Tesser.
Mondonico was only appointed on 30 January after a run of five consecutive defeats convinced the Piedmont club to dismiss Tesser, the man who had led them to successive promotions and into the Italian top flight for the first time in 55 years.
Novara earned five points from six games under Mondonico − including a famous 1-0 victory at FC Internazionale Milano which completed the double against the Nerazzurri − but with the team 12 points from safety the club decided to recall the 53-year-old Tesser.
