Paris Saint-Germain FC missed the chance to return to the top of Ligue 1 after being held to a 1-1 home draw by FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
The visitors were rarely troubled by Carlo Ancelotti's side in the first half and took the lead on 77 minutes when Cheick Tidiane Diabate finished into an empty net after being served by Nicolas Maurice-Belay. Guillaume Hoarau equalised soon after, profiting from a superb Mathieu Bodmer back-heel, but PSG failed to conjure a winner and trail Montpellier Hérault SC on goal difference.
Earlier in the day, Toulouse FC returned to fourth spot with a 1-0 win against bottom club AJ Auxerre, Franck Tabanou scoring a first-half winner to leave Jean-Guy Wallemme tasting defeat in his first match as Auxerre coach. Struggling SM Caen also lost, the 17th-placed club succumbing 2-0 at Dijon FCO.
