Villarreal CF have begun the search for a new coach for the second time this season after José Francisco Molina was dismissed following Sunday's 1-0 Liga reverse away to Levante UD.
The former Spanish international goalkeeper was promoted to first team affairs at Villarreal after Juan Carlos Garrido's departure in December but has overseen just three victories in his 11 games in charge. The Yellow Submarine have now lost four of their last five encounters, leaving them just above the relegation zone.
"We would like to thank José Molina for the service he has given us and we wish him the best of luck in his professional career," read a statement on the club's website. The 2005/06 UEFA Champions League semi-finalists must now lift themselves for Wednesday's visit of league leaders Real Madrid CF.
