FC Dynamo Kyiv have announced the signing of Swiss international forward Admir Mehmedi from FC Zürich on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

The 20-year-old passed an extended medical test in Kyiv and signed a deal that will link him to the club until 2016. He will meet his new team-mates at the club's mid-season training camp, which starts on 12 January.

Mehmedi joined Zürich in 2008 and scored 19 goals in 84 league matches. He made his senior debut for the Swiss national team in a UEFA EURO 2012 qualifier against England in June, coming on as a substitute, and has added six more caps to his name.

Mehmedi will try to help Dynamo retrieve the national title for the first time since 2009. Yuri Semin's side went into the winter break as Ukrainian Premier League leaders, one point above their main rivals FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
