Article body
Following several clarification demands, UEFA wishes to confirm that the Turkish Football Association (TFF) is fully responsible for managing the issues related to match-fixing in Turkey, and completely in charge of implementing the appropriate measures and taking the necessary disciplinary sanctions to deal with this serious matter in the best way for the safety of football in Turkey.
Fully respectful of the independence and autonomy of the national associations, UEFA cannot interfere with national internal matters. UEFA can of course and upon request, offer an advisory and supportive role, as long as it preserves the autonomy of the decision process of each of its members.
UEFA intervenes specifically when match-fixing issues directly affect any of the competitions run at European level, but of course follows developments in match-fixing case across Europe, as this matter is of primary importance for the future of football at all levels.
