Manolo Jiménez has been appointed Real Zaragoza coach until the end of the campaign, replacing Javier Aguirre.

The 47-year-old former Sevilla FC boss returns to his native Spain after a 12-month spell with AEK Athens FC, which brought the 2011 Greek Cup, ended in October. The former international full-back led Sevilla to third in the Liga in 2008/09, reaching the UEFA Champions League round of 16 the following season. Aguirre was dismissed last week with Zaragoza bottom after a disappointing start to the campaign of just two league wins in 16 matches.
