Udinese Calcio climbed ahead of Juventus at the top of Serie A thanks to a 2-1 win against AC Chievo Verona, while AC Milan spurned the chance to go level with the leaders as they dropped points at Bologna FC.

Second-half goals from Antonio Di Natale and Dušan Basta fired Udinese into a strong position and Alberto Paloschi's late consolation was not enough to prevent Francesco Guidolin's men moving a point clear of Juve, who visit AS Roma on Monday evening.

Milan looked set to join the Zebrette on 30 points when Zlatan Ibrahimović's 71st-minute penalty gave them a 2-1 lead at Bologna, but Alessandro Diamanti struck back just two minutes later. Marco Di Vaio had earlier put the hosts ahead 11 minutes in before Clarence Seedorf drew level for the Rossoneri shortly after.

Elsewhere, SSC Napoli were held 1-1 by struggling Novara Calcio just days after securing their place in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages. The Partenopei required Blerim Dzemaili's equaliser six minutes from time to salvage a point.

Simone Tiribocchi's strike cancelled out Nicola Legrottaglie's first-half goal as Atalanta BC secured a 1-1 home draw with Calcio Catania, while eighth-placed Cagliari Calcio remain a point above Parma FC after the two teams played out a goalless draw in Sardinia.
