Ivan Tričkovski and Feran Hasani led the honours in the annual awards given by the Football Association of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FFM) executive board.
APOEL FC striker Tričkovski was named as the best foreign-based Macedonian player after the 24-year-old's fine 12 months with APOEL FC, winning the Cypriot title then helping them past the UEFA Champions League group stage. He ends the five-year dominance of the award by Goran Pandev.
Tričkovski, best domestic player in 2007 while at FK Rabotnički, went on to FK Crvena zvezda and Enosis Neon Paralimni FC before his switch to APOEL last year. There he scored 11 goals on the way to the first league title of his career and was ever-present as APOEL topped UEFA Champions League Group G, becoming the first Cypriot team to make the knockout phase.
"This was an excellent year for me, as well as for my club after we won the title in Cyprus and achieved an historic result in the UEFA Champions League," said Tričkovski, who will receive the award at a special event next year.
"I cannot predict what will happen in my future, but I am certain that I want to further develop my career. My only regret in 2011 is that I didn't have sufficient success with my team-mates in the national squad, but I hope that next year we will finally achieve good results. That's my biggest wish for 2012."
Hasani, 21, was named best domestic player after his 13 goals aided FK Shkëndija 79 to their first league championship last season, keeping up that form this term to earn a January switch to VfL Wolfsburg. To complete a treble for the club, Qatip Osmani took the prize as coach of the year and Shkëndija themselves were honoured as best team.
