Yaya Touré scored crucial goals for Manchester City FC as they finished third in the Premier League to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time and win a first major trophy since 1976. Also in England, Jack Wilshere emerged as one of the hottest talents in Europe following some outstanding displays for Arsenal FC. Xavi Hernández reinforced his status as one of the world's leading midfielders in a successful FC Barcelona side which claimed Liga, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup trophies.
João Moutinho's presence in FC Porto's midfield did not go unnoticed. The Portuguese international's resilience provided the backbone for his side as they won silverware under coach André Villas-Boas. Luka Modrić, meanwhile enhanced his credentials at Tottenham Hotspur FC and was a mainstay in the Croatia side which reached UEFA EURO 2012. Who has impressed you most?
