Many of the usual suspects make an appearance in this year's shortlist. Lionel Messi capped a fantastic 2010/11 campaign with one of FC Barcelona's three goals in their UEFA Champions League final victory against Manchester United FC while Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in Real Madrid CF's 8-1 win against UD Almería to surpass Telmo Zarra and Hugo Sánchez's Liga scoring record.

Falcao and Hulk combined superbly at FC Porto while Robin van Persie's remarkable scoring record at Arsenal FC means he is also a contender. Mario Gomez has had a prolific year with FC Bayern München, so has Javier Hernández at United. Sergio Agüero, Edinson Cavani and Antonio Di Natale have all been among the goals too but who, in this category brimming with talent, will get your vote?
