UEFA's HatTrick assistance programme has a positive impact on football – reinforcing the roots of the sport across the continent with the support it brings to the European national associations in sporting, infrastructural and educational terms – and women's football development is a key pillar of the HatTrick scheme's latest cycle from 2012 to 2016.
At its meeting in Prague in December 2010, the UEFA Executive Committee recognised the huge expansion of the female game across Europe, and agreed to back the development programme over the period until 2016 via yearly funding through HatTrick.
