Levante UD's remarkable winning run continued as they went a point clear at the top of the Liga with a 3-0 success at Villarreal CF, while Rayo Vallecano de Madrid moved away from the danger zone with victory at Real Betis Balompié.
Two first-half goals from Juanlu Gómez and one from Arouna Koné after the interval sealed a sixth consecutive success for Levante and moved them a point ahead of second-placed Real Madrid CF, with Valencia CF five points back in fifth after they drew 1-1 with Athletic Club. Roberto Soldado's late goal cancelled out Iker Muniain's opener for the Basque outfit.
There were timely interventions at Betis too, where Lass and Sergio Koke struck in the last ten minutes to give Rayo a 2-0 triumph and lift them to 13th in the table. CA Osasuna leapfrogged Real Zaragoza into tenth spot with a 3-0 win thanks to first-half goals from Raúl García, Nino and Javad Nekunam. Elsewhere, Club Atlético de Madrid and RCD Mallorca drew 1-1 and the match between Real Sociedad de Fútbol and Getafe CF ended scoreless.
