Two goals from Nenê cemented Paris Saint-Germain FC's place at the head of Ligue 1 as they saw off Dijon FCO 2-0 in the capital, while LOSC Lille Métropole and Stade Rennais FC both won to keep in touch.
Montpellier Hérault SC joined PSG at the summit with a 3-1 success at SM Caen on Saturday, but Antoine Kombouaré's men responded to haul themselves clear once again. Brazilian winger Nenê got the goals either side of half-time to take his tally to four in the league and leave Dijon lying in 13th.
Reigning champions Lille moved up to third, four points off the pace, as they came from behind to see off Olympique Lyonnais 3-1. Jimmy Briand had put Les Gones ahead before Moussa Sow drew level on the stroke of half-time. Marko Baša gave the advantage to Lille after the break and Joe Cole wrapped up the points with seven minutes to go to drop Lyon to fifth.
Rennes remain five points behind the leaders after Julien Feret's goal 16 minutes from time squeezed them past AJ Auxerre. That represented a third loss of the season for the hosts and made it two wins in a row for the fourth-placed Brittany outfit.
