Scotland began UEFA Women's EURO 2013 qualifying in some style with victory in Israel.
Two up within nine minutes, Scotland were only 2-1 ahead at half-time in Nes-Ziona, but a pair of Kim Little goals set them on the way to a result that leaves them within three points of early Group 4 leaders France with a game in hand.
Things began well for Scotland – whose preparations finished with an excellent 7-2 defeat of Finland – when Jane Ross headed in a Megan Sneddon cross and soon after Jennifer Beattie made the most of Hayley Lauder's pass. Moran Lavi pulled one back on 35 minutes but early in the second half Little finished off a fine individual effort then added another after being set up by Arsenal LFC team-mate Beattie.
Substitute Suzanne Grant got in on the act with two assists, her first cross converted by Lauder and then a second inadvertently turned in by Israel's Michal Ravitz. Scotland's campaign continues at home against Wales on 27 October, the day before Israel visit France, who beat them 5-0 in Nes-Ziona last month.
