West Bromwich Albion FC have their first points of the new Premier League season after securing a 1-0 victory away against promoted side Norwich City FC.
Having kicked off with three consecutive defeats, Roy Hodgson's side were desperate to halt their run and thus made the perfect start when the Norwich defence failed to cope with Nicky Shorey's lofted pass into the area and allowed Peter Odemwingie to pounce inside the first three minutes. The hosts recovered to apply pressure after that, but it was West Brom who came closest to finding the net when Odemwingie had a late penalty saved by Declan Rudd.
In Sunday's other game, Blackburn Rovers FC also opened their account for the season by drawing 1-1 at Fulham FC, though they will be disappointed not to have held on for a win after Rubén Rochina (32) thundered a left-footed effort in off the underside of the crossbar. Bobby Zamora took just six minutes to level, giving Fulham just their second point this term.
