Samuel Eto'o has joined ambitious Russian outfit FC Anzhi Makhachkala from UEFA Champions League group stage entrants FC Internazionale Milano on a three-year deal.
The Cameroon forward, 30, has moved to the Premier-Liga club for an undisclosed fee. Eto'o won the Scudetto and UEFA Champions League during two seasons with the Nerazzurri, scoring an impressive 33 goals in 67 Serie A appearances. Capped 106 times at international level, Eto'o is his country's all-time leading scorer with 50 goals and has been voted African Player of the Year on four occasions.
The former FC Barcelona striker, who scored for the Azulgrana in the 2006 and 2009 UEFA Champions League finals, follows Roberto Carlos, Mbark Boussoufa, Balázs Dzsudzsák and Yuri Zhirkov in signing for the Dagestan team this summer. Anzhi, not involved UEFA competition in 2011/12, are fourth in the Russian top flight, nine points adrift of PFC CSKA Moskva at the summit.
