Article body
Héctor Cúper has been appointed coach of Spanish Liga side Real Racing Club on a season-long contract following the departure of Marcelino García Toral.
The 55-year-old fills the gap created by Marcelino's decision to leave for Sevilla FC earlier in the month. However, Argentinian coach Cúper brings a wealth of experience to the Cantabria-based outfit, having previously guided Valencia CF to two UEFA Champions League finals and coached FC Internazionale Milano. The target will be to improve on Racing's 12th-place finish last term.
Cúper has also led RCD Mallorca to Copa del Rey and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup finals and had spells at the helm of Aris Thessaloniki FC, Real Betis Balompié, Parma FC and the Georgia national team.
