Anita quick to agree new Ajax terms

The versatile Vurnon Anita said it was "an easy decision" to sign an improved contract with Dutch title winners AFC Ajax after extending his deal by two years to June 2014.

Vurnon Anita has penned a two-year contract extension with Eredivisie champions AFC Ajax.

The 22-year-old, who can play in several positions in defence and midfield, is now committed to the Amsterdam club until June 2014. His previous deal was due to expire next summer. "This means a lot to me because Ajax are my first club," he said. "It was an easy decision."

A product of the Ajax academy, the Dutch international made his debut in March 2006, becoming a regular in the side at the start of the 2009/10 campaign. All of his three league goals came this season, in Ajax's first title triumph for seven years.
