Extra-time goals from Dušan Matović and Andrius Velička helped FK Ekranas beat FK Banga 4-2 in the Lithuanian Cup final, though the champions trailed 2-0 at one point.
Velička set up Matović to put the 2010 Lyga winners ahead for the first time in the game, while the wing-back returned the compliment soon after for the former Rangers FC striker. It was a relief for Ekranas, after first-time finalists Banga had scored twice early on, Irmantas Zelmikas heading in from a corner before Karolis Urbaitis struck a second from a rebound.
Ramūnas Radavičius finished off a good team move to make it 2-1 on the half-hour mark, and veteran striker Egidijus Varnas found the target in his second successive cup final, levelling the scores with a header ten minutes into the second half.
Ekranas's fifth cup victory means Valdas Urbonas's side are automatically awarded the Lithuanian Super Cup as double winners. "The start was a cold shower for us but thankfully we scored in the first half and then managed to equalise," Velička told UEFA.com. "Then it was a matter of stamina and I think we had more of that today."
Banga coach Arminas Narbekovas added: "It's sad that a great cup campaign has ended like this. My young team did their best."
