Mark McAllister's winner three minutes from time earned Linfield FC a comeback victory against Crusaders FC in the Northern Irish Cup final and sealed the club's fifth league and cup double in six years.
Linfield had fallen behind at Windsor Park when Declan Caddell gave the Crusaders – runners-up to their fellow cup finalists in the league this season – the lead nine minutes into the second half with a spectacular left-footed shot. The champions replied through Peter Thompson (78), who reacted first after substitute Jamie Mulgrew's shot was saved by Crues keeper Chris Keenan.
Then, with the match seemingly destined for extra time McAllister pounced from close range on 87 minutes after Keenan again failed to keep hold of another Mulgrew effort in the slippery conditions.
