Borussia Dortmund remain seven points clear in the Bundesliga after seeing off Hannover 96 4-1, with closest pursuers Bayer 04 Leverkusen clinching a 1-0 victory at 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Without a win in their last two outings, Dortmund looked in trouble again when Mohammed Abdellaoue gave visitors Hannover the lead after 57 minutes. Jürgen Klopp's men responded through Mario Götze almost immediately, however, before a pair of Lucas Barrios strikes (64, 73) and a Kevin Grosskreutz goal seven minutes from time gave them the points.

Leverkusen continue to apply pressure after they prevailed at Kaiserslautern, Sidney Sam making the difference on 74 minutes. In third, meanwhile, are FC Bayern München, the champions having leapfrogged Hannover thanks to Arjen Robben's 77th-minute winner in a 1-0 triumph at home against bottom club VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Elsewhere, Papiss Demba Cissé took his goal tally this term to 19 with SC Freiburg's first-minute opener in a 1-1 draw at 1. FSV Mainz 05, and VfB Stuttgart moved two points clear of the relegation zone following an identical result at SV Werder Bremen. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim drew 0-0 with Hamburger SV in the late kick-off.
