FC Internazionale Milano are hot on the heels of AC Milan after completing a narrow 1-0 home victory against lowly US Lecce.
January signing Giampaolo Pazzini's sixth league goal in ten appearances for the Nerazzurri (52) ensured that Leonardo's side capitalised on Milan's loss to US Città di Palermo on Saturday. One point further back in third, meanwhile, SSC Napoli defeated Cagliari Calcio to add even more pressure on the leaders. Edinson Cavani struck both goals for the hosts, with his 49th-minute opener a penalty and his first effort since 12 February.
Udinese Calcio lie three points behind Napoli after they secured their sixth win in seven matches, beating Calcio Catania 2-0. Antonio Natale buried a 74th-minute spot kick to claim his seventh goal in four matches and 25th in Serie A this term, after Gökhan Inler (22) had earlier given the hosts the lead.
Elsewhere, Juventus beat Brescia Calcio 2-1 to claim their first win in five matches and climb to seventh, five points behind AS Roma, who held ACF Fiorentina to a 2-2 draw thanks to Francesco Totti's 200th and 201st goals in the Italian top flight. AC Chievo Verona and Parma FC triumphed 2-1 and 1-0 respectively at AS Bari and UC Sampdoria, while Bologna FC and Genoa CFC drew 1-1.
