Hamburger SV have parted company with coach Armin Veh following Saturday's 6-0 loss against FC Bayern München.
Veh, 50, departs with immediate effect having announced during the week his intention to leave at the end of the season. The former VfB Stuttgart and VfL Wolfsburg trainer, who joined Hamburg in May last year, has been replaced for the time being by former assistant Michael Oenning.
"After the last two matches we came to the conclusion that we needed to take action, so we have parted company with Armin Veh," said sporting director Bastian Reinhardt. Oenning, whose only previous coaching experience in the Bundesliga was with 1. FC Nürnberg between February 2008 and December 2009, assumes the reins with Hamburg eighth in the German top flight.
