Lars-Åke Lagrell was re-elected as president of the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) on Saturday – thereby embarking on his 21st year helping to man the helm of Swedish football. "I'm grateful for the vote of confidence," he told the association assembly.
For Mr Lagrell, who emphasised his desire to continue working in the game when the time for a new president does eventually come, a new national stadium in Solna and UEFA Women's EURO 2013 in Sweden are forthcoming items on the Swedish football agenda. The SvFF president also expressed the hope that Swedish clubs will be able to lift their performances in European competition in the not-too-distant future.
