Villarreal CF and Club Atlético de Madrid set up two intriguing Copa Del Rey quarter-final ties after respective aggregate victories against Valencia CF and RCD Espanyol.

Goalless heading into their return at the Madrigal, Valencia took control thanks to Banega (5) and Roberto Soldado (23) only for the Yellow Submarine to produce an extraordinary response. Santi Cazorla pulled one back and Giuseppe Rossi levelled from the penalty spot within four minutes of the restart. Marco Ruben (63) nudged the hosts ahead on aggregate with Rossi's second in added time completing a remarkable recovery and earning a tie with Sevilla FC.

Atlético drew 1-1 at Espanyol to progress 2-1 on aggregate, Sergio Agüero's thumping finish on 25 minutes only cancelled out in added time via Luis García's free-kick. Atlético will meet Real Madrid CF in the next round as their city rivals followed up their 8-0 first-leg stroll against Levante UD with a meaningless 2-0 away defeat.

UD Almería followed up their 4-3 first-leg success at home to RCD Mallorca by winning by the same scoreline in their return, though the visitors had led 4-0 at the break with two goals apiece from Pablo Piatti and Juanma Ortiz. Almería face RC Deportivo La Coruña next. Real Betis Balompié produced a shock by triumphing 3-1 at Getafe CF to go through 4-3 on aggregate and seal a plum tie against FC Barcelona. Ruben Castro struck twice after Jorge Molina had put the visitors ahead in the 56th minute.
