FC Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov has been named Ukrainian Premier League player of the year.
Players, coaches and journalists honoured Pyatov, who beat FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk's Yevhen Konoplyanka to the spoils by 11 votes. Shakhtar team-mate Darijo Srna finished third.
Pyatov was an integral member of Shakhtar's title-winning side of the 2009/10 campaign, at one point going 767 minutes without conceding a goal between the end of last term and the beginning of this. Two more clean sheets would have been enough for the 26-year-old to surpass an 11-year record held by Olexander Goryainov.
Pyatov has not missed a top-flight game this term, helping Shakhtar to take a 12-point lead over second-placed FC Dynamo Kyiv into the winter break. The Ukrainian international has also been ever-present in Mircea Lucescu's side's UEFA Champions League campaign. Shakhtar won Group H to reach the round of 16, where they will face AS Roma away on 16 February, with the return on 8 March.
