Ruben Hayrapetyan has been re-elected as president of the Football Federation of Armenia (HFF) for the third time.

Mr Hayrapetyan has been HFF president since 2002 and has emphasised the development of youth football and football infrastructures as a major priority. A considerable number of new pitches have been built throughout Armenia and a number of projects launched in cooperation with UEFA.

The HFF's grassroots work has also gained recognition with Armenia recently being granted five-star membership of the UEFA Grassroots Charter, and promotional football work in the country – including in schools – earning third prize in the best grassroots project section of the 2010 UEFA Grassroots Awards.

The federation's national football academy, built with UEFA support, opened in Yerevan this year, with UEFA president Michel Platini and the Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan taking part in the official inauguration.

In addition, Armenia have achieved promising results in their UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying campaign with seven points collected from the first four games in Group B.

"Thank you for having faith in me," Mr Hayrapetyan said after his re-election. "As in the previous eight years, I will do all I can for youth football development. It is our strategic objective and we will go on with this work. I will do my best to help achieve new goals for Armenian football."
