Stade Rennais FC moved to the Ligue 1 summit as Saturday's action left the top ten separated by just four points.

None of the leading three this morning were in action, as both first-placed Olympique de Marseille and Stade Brestois 29, in third, have games on Sunday, when LOSC Lille Métropole, in second, will attempt to play FC Lorient after this evening's scheduled fixture was snowed off. That allowed Rennes to move a point ahead of Marseille thanks to a 1-0 win against AS Monaco FC, Victor Montaño converting a 64th-minute penalty after Nampalys Mendy's handball.

Olympique Lyonnais are also within a point of Rennes as Lisandro struck his second goal deep in added time for a 2-1 victory at Montpellier Hérault SC – who are ninth, but only three points off the lead. Indeed, they have the same number of points as FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, who beat Valenciennes FC 2-1 to go sixth, and on that tally of 24 too are Toulouse FC, 1-0 winners against lowly SM Caen.

Paris Saint-Germain FC are themselves three points off Rennes, and face Brest tomorrow with either side able to end the day on top, just like Lille and OM, who play at OGC Nice.
